The Ashford Transfer Station will be open for their regular hours. For the safety of everyone, please do not loiter.

Regular Hours

  • Saturday – 8AM until 4PM
  • Sunday – 10AM until 4PM
  • Wednesday – 2PM until 8PM

The Transfer Station will be closed on these 2024 dates:

  • Sunday, March 31st for Easter Sunday

Operations

The Ashford Transfer Station is located at 232 Upton Road. It is owned and operated by the Town of Ashford. Services are provided through Ashford tax dollars.

The Ashford Transfer Station is available to Ashford residents for trash disposal and recycling. Composting at home is encouraged.

Can I Recycle It?

Stickers

Stickers are required for use of the Transfer Station and are available at the Selectmen’s Office. Proof of residency is required.

Household Hazardous Waste

The Town of Ashford Transfer Station does not accept hazardous waste. Household hazardous waste can be brought to the Mid-Neroc Chemical Waste Drop-off Facility on Hancock Road in Willington, CT. Please refer to Household Hazardous Waste Center 2023 Schedule.  They can be reached at 860.684.3163

Curbside Pick-up

The Town of Ashford does not provide curbside pick-up. Please refer to Willimantic Waste at www.williwaste.com for information on curbside service.

Swap Sheds

Thanks to a generous donation from a former resident, we have a swap library at the Transfer Station. Both the swap library and the shed, available for goods swapping, are located south of the Dog Pound, across from the recycle compactor.
