The Tax Collector’s Office is responsible for collecting the municipal taxes on real estate, personal property, and motor vehicles in order to provide revenue for the programs deemed necessary and/or desirable to operate the Town. These taxes become due and payable on July 1 and Jan. 1. Interest is calculated and collected on all accounts past due on Aug. 1 and Feb. 1. Liens are filed on all unpaid current real estate taxes in the spring.
The Tax Collector’s Office will be STAFFED Mon., Tues., & Fri., 8:30 AM – 3 PM., and Wed. 10 A.M to 6 P.M. , & also available by appointment. Please contact us by phone or email.
The Office will be closed on all Thursdays and also on Monday, Jan. 17th, 2020, in observance of Martin Luther King Day.
PLEASE DO NOT USE DROP BOX AFTER 3:00 P.M. ON Tuesday, Feb. 1st if you wish to have 2nd installment payments considered “on time”. After that time, payments will not be retrieved until Wednesday, Feb. 2nd, 2022, and would be considered “late”. Suggestion: Use post office or online after that 3:00 P.M. deadline.
PLEASE CHECK WEBSITE FOR CORRECT AMOUNTS. 2ND installment payments on Real Estate and Personal Property bills are being collected. Supplemental Motor Vehicle Bills have been mailed out in December. Online payments and the Drop Box options are being encouraged in order to avoid standing in line.

Messages and Information from the Tax Collector
The mill rate for July 1, 2021 thru June 30th, 2022 is set at 36.369. It is a decrease from the previous year of 36.836 mills.
TO OBTAIN AN IMMEDIATE DMV RELEASE payment must be made by Bank check or Money Order. If you use the online option, you will need to wait 10 business days to have the delinquency removed from the DMV unless paid online by credit card.
