One thing often heard from visitors to our part of Connecticut is how beautiful and untouched our countryside seems. Designated scenic roads invite people to admire where we live and our other back roads are often just as lovely. Over the past few years, however, we see increasing amounts of litter on our roads, particularly on days the transfer station is open. Most of this litter comes out of uncovered trash cans as they are driven to the transfer station. Let’s keep our roads beautiful…cover the cans! Loretta Wrobel, Chair, Ashford Conservation Commission.
